SWABI: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar said on Sunday that tubewells would be installed in various areas of Jhanda, Kandao and Buko for providing potable water to the residents and growing crops.

Talking to Dawn here on Sunday, he said these were the difficult terrains and the people, particularly growers, confronted problems, but they should not be worried because the government was determined to end their sense of deprivation.

Mr Qaisar said he had met with the elders on Saturday during the inauguration of Jhanda-Pabini Road which cost Rs81 million, who lauded completion of the road as it would facilitate them a lot. He said the tubewells would soon be dipped to meet the longstanding demand of the locals.

To a question, he said: “We never make empty pledges like the leaders of some other political parties.” He said the government had already initiated various projects and more were expected to be inaugurated soon.

Mr Qaisar said women university building at Kotha would be completed soon, adding existing electricity transmission line would be replaced to help resolve the low voltage problem.
