The Greens, who sealed their fourth trophy in five editions, rode on a magnificent opening partnership of 116 between man-of-the-match Naqi and Farhan Khan to collect 183-6 in the stipulated overs. Naqi was first to go after scoring 78 from 43 deliveries with the help of six fours and four sixes, while Farhan hit three boundaries and a six in his 35-ball knock of 48.

Vinod Ramesh blasted a quick 31 off 22 balls while striking a brace of boundaries.

Seamer Mohammad Amin and off-spinner Marij Abbasi captured two wickets each.

The Blues, in reply, were restricted to 172-9 with opener Manzoor Maqsood top-scoring with a 26-ball 41 (four boundaries). Other main run-getters were Haroon Marwat (36 off 28 balls, three fours and one six) and Asim Khan (28 off 12, three sixes).

Paceman Fazeel Ahmed Jah grabbed two wickets for 35, while Naqi took 2-39 with his off-spinners.

Former Pakistan captain and batting legend Javed Miandad graced the final as the chief guest and awarded the winners’ trophy to Greens skipper Nusrat Ali. Also present on the occasion were ex-KCCA president Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi and joint secretary Jamil Ahmed as guests of honour.

Naqi was also adjudged as the tournament’s best batsman and bowler, while Manzoor was declared the competition’s best all-rounder.
