LAHORE: PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has called for a thorough investigation into the causes of fire in the prison cell of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s principal secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad.

Expressing concern and alarm, the opposition leader in National Assembly sent his prayers to former railways minister Khwaja Saad Rafiq who sustained injuries during the fire incident.

Shahbaz said such unlikely incidents in prisons of victims of political persecution were a matter of great suspicion. He prayed for the health and safety of all prisoners and demanded that their families must be apprised of their condition without any delay.
