ISLAMABAD: Punjab’s Zubair Tahir in a close match defeated Islamabad’s Kamran Chaudhry of Islamabad on the opening day of the U-18 Jubilee Insurance National Snooker Championship on Friday.

Zubair faced tough resistance from Kamran before the former eventually won the battle 3-2 (40-55, 57-24, 60-58, 41-54, 69-17).
