Australian defence official calls on COAS

ISLAMABAD: Australian Vice Chief of Defence Forces Vice Admiral David Johnston, the Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) Royal Australian Navy (RAN) on Friday called on Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ).

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and regional security were discussed, said a press release.

The COAS reiterated the offer he made to General Angus John Campbell, Chief of Defence Force for any assistance in tackling the bush fires in Australia.

The visiting dignitary appreciated the Pakistan Army’s role in ensuring peace and stability in the region and thanked the COAS for sentiments towards Australia.
