HARIPUR: Two motorcyclists were killed and three injured when three motorbikes skidded off the road while racing near the Government Boys Degree College, Khanpur, here on Sunday, police said.

They quoted eyewitnesses as saying that five students of the college were racing on three motorcycles on Choee Road when a biker lost control and skidded off the road. The other two bikers following behind also went off the road. Five riders were critically injured in the pile-up.

The local people shifted the injured students to Khanpur tehsil headquarters hospital, where the doctors declared one of them identified as Raja Mubashir Kiyani dead. Mubashir, a resident of Khoee Nara village, was 1st year student.

The other four injured were referred to Haripur Trauma Centre, where another student identified as Sameer Ahmed of Darra Dada Shaheed village also succumbed to injuries.

Later, the rest of the injured identified as Zaheem Nawaz, Ihsan Ahmed and Mohammad Umar were referred to Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad.
