KARACHI: Leading poli­t­ical economist and resear­cher Dr Syed Akbar Zaidi has been appointed as executive director at the Institute of Business Adm­inis­­tration (IBA) Karachi.

The universities and boards department of the Sindh government issued a notification on Monday, according to which Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah appointed Dr Zaidi for a period of four years on the terms and conditions under the Sindh Universities and Institutes Laws (Amend­ment) Act 2018.

Dr Zaidi takes over from Dr Farrukh Iqbal, who had announced in June 2019 that he would be leaving the institution at the end of the calendar year.
