TAXILA: Complainants thronged an open court held by Attock Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qamar at the municipal committee hall on Thursday.

During the open court, people from different areas told the deputy commissioner about various problems being faced by them.

Senior citizen, Raza Naqvi said that patients were facing problems in purchasing medicines in DHQ Hospital. Residents of Awan Sharif and Darus Salam colony said that sanitation was a big issue of the area.

Furthermore, a number of complainants were against officials of revenue, police, health, education and other departments.

The deputy commissioner after hearing people’s complaints assured them that their problems would be solved and directed the officers concerned to take action on a priority basis.

The purpose of open courts is to give people easy access to officers concerned for solution of their problems, he said.

The government is fully committed to providing maximum relief to people and holding ‘Open Kutcheris’ at different public places is the best way to achieve this target, he added.

A special programme has been chalked out to control traffic in the city area and its implementation will be ensured, he said adding that strict action would be taken against inefficient and corrupt government officials without discrimination.

Mr Qamar asked all officers concerned to take immediate action and assured that progress on these complaints will be monitored regularly.

Assistant Commissioner Ms Jannat Hussain Nekokara, Additional Deputy Commissioner (revenue) Chaudhry Abdul Majid, District Education Authority Chief Executive Dr Javed Iqbal, Local Government Deputy Director Javed Bhatti, Chief Officer Imran Sindho and local heads of different departments were also present on the occasion.
