KARACHI: Pakistan Masters seized a 1-0 lead over visiting Oman Masters in the three-match series registering an emphatic 4-2 victory at the Dr. M. A. Shah-Islahuddin Hockey Academy on Saturday.

Former Olympian right winger Qamar Ibrahim scored a brace while Kamran Ashraf and Mohammad Ali chipped in a goal apiece for the home team.

Sameer Ilyas Jaman scored both the goals for the visitors.

Players of both the teams wore black armbands to honour Sultan of Qaboos, who passed away on Jan 10.

President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) retired Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar graced the occasion and inaugurated the bilateral series.
