LAHORE: The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) has a fully operational Faisalabad Snooker Academy now, it was announced on Wednesday.

According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association, a grand opening ceremony was held at the UAF, which was also attended by world snooker champion Mohammad Asif and former Asian champion Hamza Akbar.

The UAF vice chancellor, Prof. Dr Mohammad Ashraf, co-chairman PBSA Alamgir A Shaikh and vice president PBSA’s Punjab chapter MB Ghouri were also present in the ceremony. The PBSA thanked the UAF for making the academy fully operational in a newly-built hall of the university.

Earlier, the PBSA’s delegation headed by Alamgir also met director general Sports Board Punjab Adnan Arshad and it was decided that a snooker academy would also be set up in Lahore.
