FAISALABAD, Aug 20: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education showed a record pass percentage of 69.68 in 2005 intermediate examinations. Around 43,175 candidates took the examination of whom 30,085 were declared successful.
Awais Ahmed of the Chenab College Jhang stood first with 988 marks while Naseem Akhtar of the Govt College for Women, Madina Town, bagged second position with 979 marks. Naveeda Mushtaq of the Govt College for Women, Toba Tek Singh, captured the third position with 973 marks.
Punjab Communication and Works Minister Zaheeruddin Khan distributed prizes, medals, certificates and gift hampers among the position holders.
GUJRANWALA: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Gujranwala, announced the result of intermediate annual examination (Part-I and Part-II) 2005 here on Saturday.
According to Examination Controller Dr Mumtaz Ahmad Awan, 64,511 candidates appeared in the examination. Of them, 40,110 were declared successful, with an overall pass percentage of 62.18, the highest in the last two years.
Suleman Khan (Roll No 74567) of the National Science College Gujranwala stood first with 967 marks, while Kanwal Saleem (131019) of the Punjab College of Information Technology for Girls and Ali Akram Khan (72987) of the Punjab College of Commerce for Boys got second and third positions, with 965 and 964 marks, respectively.
PART-I: As many as 52,786 candidates appeared in the examination and 28,330 out of them were declared successful with an overall pass percentage of 53.67.
First position holder Suleman Khan, son of DSP Muhammad Taufiq Khan, told journalists that he intended to become an engineer. He had also stood first in the pre-engineering group’s first year examination with 486 marks.
The second position holder Ms Kanwal Saleem wants to become a good human and a good Muslim. She said her ideal was the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Ali Akram Khan, who stood first in pre-medical group and third overall, said he would become a doctor.
BAHAWALPUR: The Bahawalpur BISE announced the intermediate (part one and two) combined 2005 annual examination result in which girls clinched all the top three positions.
Of the 26,398 candidates who appeared in the examination, 13,708 were declared successful showing a percentage of 51.93.
Ms Farah Ashraf (Roll No 39010) of the Govt Sadiq Degree College for Women, Bahawalpur, stood first by securing 963 marks, while two girl candidates from Sadiqabad, Hira Javed (Roll No 36223) of FFC Grammar Girls Higher Secondary School and Hina Munawar (Roll No 36327) of the Madrassah-tul-Binat Girls Higher Secondary School captured the second and third positions by obtaining 959 and 954 marks, respectively.
Makhdum Syed Ali Akbar Mahmood, Special Assistant to Punjab chief minister, gave away prizes, medals and certificates to the position holders.
SARGODHA: According to the BISE, 18,801 candidates appeared in the examination, of whom 11,927 were declared successful with a percentage of 63.43.
Faiza Raheem Piracha (Roll No 24532) of the Government College for Women, Bhakkar, stood first with 952 marks, Taleha Farooq (24970) of the Punjab College for women, Sargodha, captured second position with 942 marks and Um-e-Farwa Naqvi (24537) of the District Public School and Science College, Bhakkar, shared the third position with Irfanul Haq Asad (25937) of the PAF Public School, Sargodha, with 937 marks each.
DCO Ubaid Rabani Qureshi, who was the chief guest at the medal-awarding ceremony for position holders of the examination held here at the board’s campus, said the Punjab government was providing ample opportunities to the deserving position holders to enable them to get higher education.
MULTAN: The BISE announced results of the annual FA/FSc examinations, 2005, here on Saturday.
According to the results, total 41,756 candidates took part in the examination, of whom 23,356 were declared successful showing the pass percentage of 55.93.
Sajeel Saeed (Roll NO 5524) of the Punjab college of Information Technology, Multan, clinched the overall top position with 980 marks.
Hafsa Yousaf (Roll No 163) of the Government College for Women, Multan, and Yasir Jamal (Roll No 2909) of the Divisional Public School and College, Sahiwal, stood second and third after securing 979 and 978 marks, respectively.
DERA GHAZI KHAN: Intermediate candidates from private institutions bagged the top-three positions in Dera Ghazi Khan.
According to the results, a total of 19,160 candidates appeared in the examination, out of whom 10,455 were declared successful.
The overall first position was clinched by Ammar Yasir (Roll No 20315) of the Superior Science Higher Secondary School, Muzafar Garh with 987 marks, while the second positions was bagged by Muhammad Faisal Yaseen (24592) of the Superior Science School, with 971 marks. The third position was shared by Asma Alvi (18429) of the Government College for Women, Layyah, Nazish Ali Khosa (24356) of Misali Zakaria Higher Secondary School, Muzaffar Garh, and Zainul Abedin (25401) of the Divisional Public School and College, Dera Ghazi Khan, by getting 968 marks each.
