LARKANA, Jan 16: The Awami Tehrik, President, Rasool Bakshsh Palijo on Wednesday accused influential landlords of stealing water with the help of irrigation officials.

Talking to newsmen, he said tail-end growers had thus been deprived of water.

He called upon the National Accountability Bureau to take notice of the matter.

He termed the construction of the Greater Thal Canal as being harmful to irrigation in Sindh and criticized the PPP for previous water accords and funds allocations for such canals.

He also expressed his concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Sindh and wondered as to how dacoits were holding sway in the province.

He urged all parties to unite to fight for the rights of Sindh.

He favoured the holding of election but warned against rigging.

He asked the government to remove all lacunae regarding preparation of identity cards.

Nazir Shaikh, Zulfikar Rajpar and other Tehrik leaders were also present on the occasion.
