THE recent Transparency International Pakistan report raised a lot of unnecessary ruckus. Politicians in and out of government, and the media commented on the TI report and without bothering to read it thoroughly. This only exposed their immaturity.

I was saddened to see some of the more respected and mature politicians held in high regard because of their moderate views and genteel nature start a storm in a teacup. Ultimately the chief executive of Transparency International Pakistan had to appear on media to explain the report. After his clarification the issue has died like the proverbial dinosaur.

I urge our politicians and the media to first thoroughly study an issue before venturing to comment.
