KARACHI: Victorious Commissioner Karachi XI players receive DMC South Kashmir Day Solidarity Basketball Cup from chief guest DC South Irshad Ali Sodhar as KBBA president Ghulam Mohammad and sports director Asif Azeem look on.

KARACHI: Fatima Jinnah IX beat BB Shaheed IX 38-36 in a thrilling contest in girls category match of the DMC South Kashmir Solidarity Day basketball tournament organized by Karachi Basketball Association in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Welfare Association for boys and girls at the Abdul Nasir basketball courts in Arambagh on Feb 5 in connection with Kashmir Day.

Main scorers for the winner were Savera 12 points, while Musfira and Eesha scored 10 points each.

In the boys match, Commissioner Karachi team beat DC South IX 48-44. Scorers for the winners in this high scoring contest were Hassan Iqbal 18 points, Shariq Suleman 14 and 12 points.

DC South Irshad Ali Sodhar who was the chief guet on the occasion gave away prizes and trophies at the concluding ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the Kashmir cause and pledged that Pakistan and its people fully stand with their Kashmiri brethren in this hour of distress.

On the occasion, Kashmir Day Sports Award was presented to Director Sports DMC South Asif Azeem for his services to sports.

KBBA president Ghulam Muhammad Khan and other sports personalities including Saleem Khamisani, Muhammad Arshad and Abdul Nasir were also present on the occasion.
