TOBA TEK SINGH: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Mirage aircraft, which was on a routine training mission, crashed near the Lahore-Multan Motorway on Friday.

The pilot managed to eject safely.

The jet had taken off from the Shorkot Rafiqui Airbase.

Toba district police officer Waqar Shoaib Qureshi rushed to the scene with a police contingent and cordoned off the area where the aircraft had crashed.

The DPO said the pilot ejected safely and no loss of life or property was reported on the ground as the jet crashed in the fields away from village 496-JB.

APP news agency quoted a PAF spokesman as saying that a board of inquiry was ordered by the air headquarters to determine the cause of the accident.
