Water shortage

Published February 11, 2020

THE residents of Old Golimar living in Union Council 6 of Site Town are passing a miserable existence because their water supplies are highly erratic and inadequate for such a thickly populated locality. The entire neighbourhood’s sewerage system is also in a shambles with overflowing gutters in many lanes. This is posing a serious health hazard to residents.

The residents have lodged dozens of complaints with the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board authorities. Their complaint was marked to the KWSB chief engineer West and the assistant commissioner, West, for further action and there the matter rests. The KWSB authorities did refer our complaint to the field staff concerned, who have done nothing to resolve the issue.

Some of the field staff is in cahoots with some senior officers who are selling a sizable share of Old Golimar’s water to the water tanker mafia.

The residents of Old Golimar Union Council 6 request the Sindh government and the KWSB authorities to take immediate action and restore our water supply.
