PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman on Wednesday urged Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to prepare a fact-based report on the ground realities in the tribal districts to inform the world about the worst crisis the region had gone through over the last 40 years.

He made the demand while presiding over the fourth annual general meeting of PRCS (merged areas) at the Governor’s House, according to a statement.

Shah Farman said tribal districts suffered huge losses due to the conflict ‘imposed from the outside’.

He said despite giving refuge to over six million Afghan refugees, who were not acceptable to any developed country Pakistan was still giving explanations to the world community.

He said being a services provider to humanity with goodwill and devotion, PRCS knew well the ground realities in its working areas, which needed to be highlighted at the global level.

The governor said the country in general and merged tribal districts in particular were passing through a critical period, which required endurance and maturity from all to bring normalcy, peace and stability back to the country.

Shah Farman also nominated Asif Khan as chairman PRCS for merged districts for two years, and 11 members of the managing committee, including an adviser to the CM, Ajmal Wazir, senior journalist Rahimullah Yousafzai and others.
