GUJRANWALA: Three children died, while their parents were injured when the roof of their house collapsed on them in Alipur Chattha on Wednesday night.

According to locals, Muhammad Irfan, his wife Iram, their daughters Kiran (7), Tooba (5) and son Ali Shan (2), were asleep in a room of their house in Charaghabad locality on Wednesday night when its roof caved in.

As a result, Irfan and his wife were critically injured, while all the three children buried under the debris of the roof and died on the spot.

Teams of Rescue 1122 emergency service called to the spot rescued the injured couple and retrieved bodies of the children from the debris.

The injured couple was shifted to the Wazirabad Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where their condition was said to be critical.

The rescuers faced difficulties in the operation because of narrow streets in the area.
