MARDAN: Three people of a family were killed and as many others injured in a road accident here on Thursday.

Police said that one Khan Nawab of Usherai area and his two children were killed while his wife along with their two other children received multiple wounds when an auto-rickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a tractor trolley on Changlai Baba road in Rustam locality.

The Rescue 1122 officials shifted the dead and injured to Mardan Medical Complex Hospital.

Rustam police station officials said that they arrested the driver, identified as Wisal, and had started investigations.

In another incident, armed men opened fire on their rivals killing one person on the spot and injuring another in Dawajan locality of Takhtbai tehsil on Thursday.

The Lundkhwar police officials said that the victim was identified as Fazal-i-Rahim while his nephew Sabz Ali was injured.

The police have lodged an FIR against the alleged killers identified as Muslim and Tariq.
