LARKANA: The ‘First Science Innovation Exhibition-2020’ was held at a public school managed by the Sukkur Institute of Business Administration (IBA) here on Saturday.

Students from various IBA community schools and colleges from different parts of Sindh participated in a competition at the exhibition, which was visited by a large number of students.

Inaugurating the event, Sukkur IBA director Noor Hussain Shar told the students to pay more attention to learning science as future and scientific growth were intertwined with each other.

However, he added, stress on focusing more on science did not mean to forget about learning other disciplines like languages and economy. He called for making advancement with innovative ideas in all disciplines. “The time demands from us to turn to science so that we could compete globally,” he said.

He appreciated efforts by Sukkur IBA University Vice Chancellor Prof Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui in promoting science and also encouraging science students besides those of other disciplines.

Principal of the IBA Public School, Larkana, Nazeer Ahmed Chang welcomed the chief guest and noted with pleasure that students from 13 IBA-run and other public and private schools in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Dadu, Jacobabad, Naushahro Feroze, Tando Mir Ali, Karoondi, Vikya Sangi, Kehar, Dhamraha and other cities and towns, as well as the CSS College, Larkana, turned up at the exhibition. He said the event would be made a regular feature.

The students participating in the competition displayed many science projects with themes drawn from mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry and other subjects at their respective stalls and explained their concepts and innovative ideas to the visitors.

The IBA Community College, Jacobabad, IBA Public School, Larkana, and Govt High School, Tando Mir Ali were adjudged winner of the first, second and third position, respectively, and given cash prizes and shields.
