MUZAFFARGARH: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar launched an inquiry into the working of the office of the additional commissioner revenue as he found it locked during a surprise visit while and the applicants were waiting for the officer.
A woman complainant, who was crying outside the office, told the CM that her land had been occupied by land grabbers. At this, the CM ordered the deputy commissioner to retrieve the woman’s land and take action against the suspects.
Speaking on the occasion, he said an industrial state would be set up on 400 acres and a Mother & Child Hospital would be constructed in the area.
He gave assurance to the people about the flyover on the railway crossing and Muzaffargarh Alipur dual carriageway.
Mr Buzdar said he was visiting the district to congratulate its people for its new tehsil, Chowk Sarwar Shaheed.
He inaugurated the new gynecology ward in the District Headquarters Hospital and Qasr-i-Behbood at the welfare office where he met women who were getting training and asked about their problems.
According to the officials, Qasr-i-Behbood building was constructed with cost of Rs60m where eight training courses, namely tailoring, beautician, embroidery, leather work, cooking, computer and spoken English, would be launched for women.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Buzdar said his government was taking steps for welfare of women and that the mission of his government was to remove poverty.
He also visited Rescue 1122 control room and the Saddar Police Station. He met with the suspects in the lock-up and when one of the suspects told him he was innocent, the CM asked to District Police Officer Syed Nadeem Abbas to inquire into the matter.
Later, the CM met the local parliamentarians at the Circuit House.
Speaking to the parliamentarians, he said the development schemes worth Rs19bn were on going and two basic health units had been upgraded at Shah Jamal.
When the chief minister entered the city area, a large number of students seen standing on the roadside holding placards, inscribed with the slogans “Muzaffargarh ko University Do”.
The CM made a pledge with them to fulfill their demand.
