TAXILA: Four people were arrested by Attock police in two murder cases. The police also recovered weapons used in the crime.

District Police Officer (DPO) Khalid Hamdani told a press conference that the body of Mohammad Banaras, a butcher, was found in the Sarafa bazaar in the limits of Hazro police on Feb 9. He said a police team led by station house officer sub-inspector Hamid Kazmi started an investigation into the murder case.

He said the investigating team picked two friends of the deceased identified as Wali Mohammad and Owais Khan who during interrogation confessed to killing Banaras.

Responding a question, Mr Hamdani said the reason behind the murder was a petty issue.

He said the body of Mobeen Raheem, 19, was found at a deserted place near Govt Commerce College Dhoke Fateh in the limits of Attock police on February 20.

The Attock city police registered a case on the complaint of his father Abdul Raheem and started an investigation. On the evidence of CCTV footage and call data record the police picked Javed Ahmed and Hamid Mehmood who during interrogation confessed to the crime, he added.

The DPO said the motive behind the murder was a monetary dispute.
