KARACHI: During a visit to Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST), MNA Alamgir Khan of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has assured varsity officials that after the release of MNAs funds, he would start development works at the Gulshan-i-Iqbal campus.

In the first phase, the playground would be reconstructed while other works would be initiated after consultation with the varsity administration. Mr Khan also said that he would convince the president of Pakistan to participate in the FUUAST convocation 2020 as chancellor.

On the occasion, FUUAST Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Arif Zubair briefed the MNA about the preparation for the forthcoming convocation. FUUAST was the second-largest public university having two campuses in Karachi, a press release quoting him stated.

Prof Zubair said the university was the only educational institute of higher studies that was imparting education in the national language while giving an option to students to attempt papers either in English or Urdu. However, officially all administrative instructions and affairs were being communicated only in Urdu, he said.

FUUAST registrar Sajid Jahangir said nations prefer to educate their generations in their own language; therefore, they had made significant progress in every field.
