TAXILA: Seven students were caught red-handed using unfair means during the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual examination on Thursday.

The examinations were held under the aegis of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi at Govt High School Jhamat in teshil Jand of Attock.

Staff recovered cheating material from all involved students and forwarded it to the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi so that further action could be taken.

An official from BISE said that the all candidates that were caught cheating have been barred from sitting in the remaining exams and a committee has been constituted by the board to decide their fate.

Centre Superintendent Mohammad Mehmood Alam also registered a First Investigation Report (FIR) at Jand Police station under the Unfair Means Clause (UMC) for further legal action.

Meanwhile, BISE’s conduct branch has replaced SSC examination Deputy Superintendent and Govt High School Jhamat’s Senior Science teacher Naseem Akhter over the issue and appointedElementary Science teacher Shafeeq Ur Rehman to the post.
