HYDERABAD: The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has asked the Sindh Bar Council to reschedule the March 7 election for the Hyderabad chapter of the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA).

Chairman of the PBC appeal committee issued the directive on Thursday on an appeal filed by Advocate Mumtaz Ali Leghari and eight other lawyers belonging to the SHC Bar Association. The PBC committee noted that neither the SBC had verified the voters’ list in compliance with rule 175-J of the Pakistan Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act, 1973, nor the verified list had been provided to the contesting candidates.

The Sindh Bar Council has been directed to conduct the election within three weeks after the process of voter list’s verification is completed.
