DERA GHAZI KHAN: A crewman was killed when seven of the buses hired by devotees of Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar and parked in the dry bed of a seasonal water channel were swept away by a hill torrent following heavy rain in Sulaiman Range mountains, stretched along the Punjab and Balochistan border, on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Sakhi Sarwar town. The deceased was a member of a bus crew.
Reports said five other crewmen, who were also swept away by strong water currents, were rescued.
Seven buses were badly damaged whereas crewmen managed to drive other buses to safety. Some motorcycles were also swept away.
The met office has meanwhile forecast more rain in the area on Thursday and Friday.
