ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Wednesday removed Health Secretary Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik (BS-22) and appointed Dr Syed Tauqir Hussain Shan (BS-21) as in-charge additional secretary.

As per documents, newly appointed additional secretary Dr Shah is officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, who was posted as officer on special duty (OSD) at Establishment Division. Dr Malik has been directed to report to Establishment Division.

When contacted, Dr Malik said that it was a matter of pleasure for him to serve in such an important ministry.

“During my tenure I tried to improve the system rather than promoting the personalities. I am happy that the health department has improved during my tenure. As I will retire in a few months so I don’t know that if I would be given charge of some other ministry or not,” he said.
