SARGODHA: Lincoln Corner Sargodha in collaboration with the US Consulate Lahore, organised a two-day ‘Youth Leadership Camp’ to empower and train youth leadership skills at the University of Sargodha.

The Camp aimed at nurturing a new generation in understanding leadership styles and knowing the critical skills required to be an effective leader, was concluded on Thursday.

Brian Brendle, Deputy Public Affairs Officer US Consulate, Lahore, and Manager Punjab Lincoln Corners Aurangzeb were chief guests of the concluding ceremony.

The students went through leadership training sessions and through skill-based workshop by influential speakers including Mobin ul Haque, Director TD and Waqar Ahmed, CEO TD.

Addressing the ceremony, Brian Brendle said this kind of nurturing and training would enable the youth to become confident, motivated and able and it would prepare them to be the next generation of leaders in the workforce and in communities.

The camp was organised around different themes including Understanding Leadership, Know Your Personality, Developing a Vision, Dimensions of Goal Setting, Leadership Styles and Behaviors and Value Based Leadership.

The guest speakers covered the areas of building self-esteem, developing required belief system, initiating personal actions plans, and behaving as a responsible leader for the community.

At the end, the chief guest distributed participatory certificates among the students. The delegates also visited the Pakistan Institute of China Studies, University of Sargodha.

PROJECT: The deputy commissioner while visiting the site for the engineering college reviewed the Rs750 million construction work.

A sum of Rs350 million will be provided for the purchase of furniture and other equipment necessary for starting the classes of electrical, mechanical and civil engineering.

The deputy commissioner directed the officials to complete the work by June this year and also asked the assistant commissioner to ensure acquiring land for approach road to college while PC-1 for construction of law college along the site of engineering college has been finalised and will be put for approval before the HEC meeting.

The DC also visited the Divisional Public School and expressed his concern over poor cleanliness and asked the principal to put up paperwork for employment of sweepers and gardener.

He directed the additional commissioner finance to prepare an estimate for renovation of building besides replacement of old oscillators for children.
