KARACHI: A man who was kidnapped in the last week of February in the Tipu Sultan area was found dead on the outskirts of Manghopir on Thursday, said police and rescue officials.

They added that the decomposed body of the kidnap victim identified as Allah Bux, 55, was recovered from a basement of a home in Abdul Rahim Goth.

Manghopir SHO Gul Mohammed Awan said that Allah Bux was kidnapped on Feb 24. The family lodged his kidnapping report on March 2 against four suspects, including a couple.

An investigation was launched and in the meantime, the nominated couple, who lived in a rented house in Lines Area, had left their place.

The Tipu Sultan police came to know that the suspect couple also lived at a home in Rahim Goth, where the police conducted a raid on Wednesday night and found some clues from the abandoned residence.

They resumed search on Thursday and recovered the body of the victim from the basement of one of the rooms of the house.

The officer said that the body was completely decomposed and sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to ascertain the exact cause of death.

No one has been arrested so far in the case.
