ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has submitted PC-Is of five interchanges to the Ministry of Interior for funding under the upcoming Public Sector Development Progrmme (PSDP).

A separate project for development of G-9/F-9 Blue Area has also been submitted to the ministry for PSDP funding.

“The projects are aimed to cater future traffic needs and further expand and extend the road infrastructure in the federal capital,” said CDA spokesperson Syed Safdar Ali.

He said projects are of vital importance as these would help address traffic interventions in the city.

The projects include construction of an interchange on Kashmir Highway at the intersection of 11th Avenue, an interchange on Kashmir Highway at intersection of 12th Avenue, construction of 10th Avenue, including an interchange, an underpasses on 10th Avenue from IJP Road to Khayaban-i-Iqbal and an interchange at intersection of 9th Avenue and IJP Road.

The CDA said with the construction of these interchanges northern and southern sides of the city would be connected without any interruption.

On the directions of the federal government in December last year, the CDA management directed the Planning and Engineering Wing to prepare the PC-Is.
