KARACHI: A 60-year-old man was shot dead within the remit of the SITE Superhighway Industrial Area police on Sunday. The police said that the body of the man, Kajal Khan, was found on KDA Road behind New Subzi Mandi.

The police found two spent bullet casings fired from a 30-bore pistol from the crime scene.

Area SHO Naveed Soomro said that the victim belonged to the Mehsud tribe hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He used to scavenge fruit, etc, from the Subzi Mandi to feed his goat. The police suspected some personal enmity behind the murder.

‘Thief’ shot dead by guard in DHA

An alleged thief was shot dead by a guard in Defence Housing Authority on Sunday, said Darakshan police.

They added that an unidentified suspect was killed by the gunfire of security guard Afzal at bungalow No 36, Street-38 of Khayaban-Muhafiz, Phase-VI.

The police took the guard into custody for interrogation.

Body found

The body of a man was found in seawater in Bin Qasim Town on Sunday.

An Edhi Foundation spokesperson said the body was found floating on the water near Port Qasim. The man appeared to have died 10 days ago.
