LAHORE: A young man reportedly died shortly after string of a stray kite slit open his throat at Chungi Amar Sidhu on Tuesday.

The incident occurred when motorcyclist Danish Pervaiz (25) was going back to his home. As he reached the elevated motorbike roundabout, the string entangled around his neck leaving him seriously wounded.

On finding him in a pool of blood, some locals immediately shifted him to the emergency ward of the Lahore General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

According to the duty medics, the wound was so critical that it left no chance for the survival of the young man.

The violation of ban on kite flying at Chungi Amar Sidhu and adjoining localities have become a permanent feature.

Particularly, a large number of youngsters, including children, are seen on the rooftops on Saturdays and Sundays violating ban on kite flying.

Quoting relatives of the deceased, a duty doctor at LGH said Danish was a resident of Haveli Lakha and presently he was staying at the house of his maternal uncle in Sufiaabad near Nishtar Colony.

He was doing a job at a factory and his parents had fixed his engagement a couple of weeks back.

Following the death of the young man, operations DIG Rai Babar Saeed suspended Factory Area SHO Rana Irham for not ensuring ban on flying kites.
