KARACHI: A boy was killed while another injured allegedly by their elder brother over some domestic dispute in Bin Qasim Town late on Tuesday night, said police.

They added that two brothers were critically injured when their elder brother attacked them with an axe inside their home in Marri Goth near Pipri.

The wounded brothers were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced 13-year-old Alaf Khan dead on arrival while his 10-year-old brother Zahid Khan was admitted for treatment. They sustained injuries on their head and neck.

Area SHO Mohammed Ali claimed that the suspect, who managed to escape from the crime scene, was stated to be an “emotionally disturbed” person.

Woman commits suicide

An 18-year-old woman committed suicide over some domestic issue in Orangi Town on Wednesday, said the Pakistan Bazaar police.

They added that Ayesha Asif hanged herself from the ceiling fan with her dupatta inside her home in Block-D of Sector-15.

Area SHO Iqbal Tunio said that the young woman ended her life after a quarrel with her brother over some domestic issue.

The body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to fulfil medico-legal formalities.

Teenager drowns in pond

A 19-year-old male drowned in Ittehad Town on Wednesday.

Some boys were swimming in a ditch located in a hilly area when Bakht Nawaz drowned and died, said area SHO Nisar Lodhi.

The officer said that it was a deep pond, where water coming from hills had accumulated during rains.

He said that the boys jumped into the pond from hills.
