The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the release on bail of women and juvenile prisoners from jails and prisoners who were convicted for minor offences.
The Directorate of District Judiciary has sent a letter to all sessions judges to fix the dates for hearing of bail pleas of all such prisoners.
The LHC has directed the judges concerned to hear the bail pleas on a "priority basis and to make decisions according to the law".
