KARACHI, Aug 29: The second day of National ranking snooker championship proved day of upsets as second seed Muhammad Yousuf, third seed Naveen Perwani and fifth seed Atiq Latif Bakhsh suffered defeats at Area Snooker Club on Monday.

However, top seed Saleh Muhammad and fourth seed Imran Shahzad showed their class with brilliant victories. Saleh smashed a brilliant break of 103 in the final frame in his 4-1 victory against province-mate Rambel Gul .

Imran of Punjab, who cracked the first century on the first day, beat Shah Khan of NWFP to record his second win.

Qamar Khan pulled off the biggest shock of the day, when he toppled former world amateur champion Yousuf in seven frames battle.

The rank outsider Qamar started in a confident fashion by grabbing the first two frames. But Yousuf won the next three frames to gain 3-2 advantage.

However, Qamar kept his nerves in the crucial juncture of the match and wrapped up the last two frames to complete the upset win.
