PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Sanaullah Abbasi said on Thursday that a summary would be soon sent to the chief minister for approval to give one month’s pay as bonus to the police officials performing duty at quarantine centres throughout the province.

A statement issued here said that Mr Abbasi told the police officials deployed at quarantine centres in Dera Ismail Khan, Hangu, Karak, Swat, Tank and Mardan districts in a video link chat that the police jawans performing duty at the frontline were the real heroes of the force.

On this occasion, the IGP also approached some of the patients being kept in Hangu quarantine centre and inquired from them about the available facilities there.

He was informed about the shift-wise duty and strength of the police at different quarantine centres.

Mr Abbasi expressed satisfaction over the police performing duty with national spirit. He said that a summary proposing one month’s additional salary as a bonus for police officials giving duty at quarantine centres throughout the province would be sent to the provincial government soon for proper approval.

He also directed the police personnel to take special care of human rights as per NDMA rules and win the hearts and minds of the general public, particularly the affected people by exhibiting excellent behaviour and politeness during duty.
