KOHAT: The political and religious leaders here have started offering their houses and hujras to the Tableeghi Jamaat members after restrictions were imposed on their movement amid coronavirus pandemic.

Awami National Party’s former district president Masood Khan Khalid Advocate was the first to offer his hujra to the Tableeghi Jamaat members. In a message, he said if any party faced any unnecessary restrictions his hujra was available for them.

Pakistan Peoples Party’s district president Abid Rauf Advocate has also announced that space was available for a preaching party in his house at Paracha Town on the Rawalpindi Road.

He declared that some sinister elements had launched a campaign to defame the Tableeghi Jamaat.

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl’s naib emir Seth Saifullah Bangash said he had a huge hujra to accommodate several parties at a time. He said they would also be served food.

Former JUI-F emir Maulana Abdul Hayee said Tableeghi Jamaat members were their Muslim brothers who had left their homes for the cause of Islam.

CORONAVIRUS PATIENT RELIEVED: A tribesman, who had tested positive for COVID-19 on his return from Iraq, was discharged from the Orakzai hospital on Saturday after he tested negative following treatment.

Two other patients, who had tested negative, would be discharged from the hospital after necessary paperwork.

In a statement, Orakzai deputy commissioner Wasil Khan Khattak said Syed Hussain, who had returned from Iraq via Karachi, had tested positive. He was admitted in the district headquarters hospital’s quarantine centre. However, after treatment his tests were sent to the Peshawar laboratory twice which came negative. After that he was sent home.
