WANA: Four children were wounded in a landmine explosion in Shakai area of South Waziristan tribal district on Sunday.

Residents said that children were playing in fields near their home when the landmine exploded with a bang injuring four of them. Assistant Commissioner Ameer Nawaz confirmed the incident.

He said children suffered minor injuries and were discharged from a local hospital after treatment. The wounded children have been identified as Ihsanullah, 13, Ferhad, 8, Said Khan, 9 and Tahir, 12.
