NAWABSHAH, Aug 31: Hundreds of students of the Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology, Nawabshah, blocked the Nawabshah-Sakrand link road in protest here on Wednesday.

The students parked university buses on the road and blocked it against the attitude of university administration. The protesters were led by Lala Riaz, Bari Solangi, Murtaza Pitafi, and Aslam Dayo.

They said all students were disturbed as the university was calculating the marks of all previous years instead of the final year only. The students said that the Higher Education Commission had introduced this rule during the current academic year and was not applicable to the students of previous years.

They claimed that one student, Saboor Khand, had fainted in the classroom on Wednesday due to tense situation prevailing on the campus.

Students dispersed when the city town police officer, Maroof Memon, reached on the spot and assured the students that their problem would be solved.
