KASUR: Kite flying claimed two lives here on Wednesday.

Violating the ban, people resort to kite flying during the lockdown to spend time, whereas local police claim to have arrested scores of violators.

In the first incident, Muhammad Asif (50) of Nia Bazaar got a severe electric shock at Baldia Chowk in front of A-Division police station from the metal string of the kite that was touching the high transmission wire. Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to the DHQ hospital in a critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.

In the second incident, 12-year-old Fahad received critical head injuries on Sunday when he fell from the roof of his house in Kot Murad Khan locality in the limits of B-Division police station while flying a kite.

He was rushed to the DHQ hospital from where he was referred to the Lahore General Hospital the other day due to his critical condition.

Fahad succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.

In another incident, stray kite string slit the throat of 30-year-old motorcyclist Zulifqar, leaving him seriously injured on Wednesday on Ferozepur Road near Iqbalnagar, some 15km from here in Saddar police precincts.

Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to the DHQ hospital where he was stated to be critical.

Some days back, B-Division SHO Mian Fareed had been transferred after a video of torture of kite-flying violators went viral.
