PESHAWAR: Khyber Teaching Hospital will launch telemedicine OPD on April 10.

A statement issued from the media department of the hospital said that due to coronavirus pandemic, OPDs, institution-based practice (IBP) and elective services were closed and people were in dire need of medical assistance.

In order to facilitate people, KTH has made arrangements for starting telemedicine OPD with five specialties including gynaecology, surgery, medicine, paediatric and psychiatry.

The service will be available from Monday to Saturday and timing of telemedicine will be from 9am to 12 noon.

People have been asked to seek appointment with respective consultants via telephone numbers including gynaecology (0330 8600301), surgery (0330 8600302), medicine (0330 8600303), paediatric (0330 8600304) and psychiatry (0330 8600305).

Telemedicine can provide some relief and access to a portion of people in this time of corona pandemic as it is the best and safest option. The people have been asked to stay home and prevent spread of the infection. The initiative is part of the national plan to ensure social distancing rules and avoid the epidemic from spreading, said the statement.
