PESHAWAR: The district administration on Wednesday sealed two banks and as many shops on Charsadda Road here for failure to maintain safety measures against coronavirus. It also arrested 22 profiteers.

According to a statement, branches of two private banks were sealed for allowing many people inside in violation of the measures meant for protection against coronavirus. Two of the banks employees were also arrested.

In addition, two shops were also sealed for the same reasons. Twenty-two shopkeepers were arrested for overcharging customers and keeping their outlets open during restriction timings.

The arrested persons included butchers, nanbais, vegetable, fruit vendors and milk sellers.

The people were picked from different places on Charsadda Road, Dilazak Road and other parts of the provincial metropolis.
