QUETTA: Two Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred and two others injured on Friday in a bomb blast that took place in Toba Achakzai area of Qila Abdullah, a district bordering Afghanistan.

Official sources said that the incident took place early in the morning when security personnel were clearing the area for fencing the border.

“It was an improvised explosive device which went off when a vehicle of security forces reached there,” they said, adding that the two soldiers received fatal injuries and died on the spot.

Security personnel cordoned off the area after the blast.

The bodies and the injured soldiers were taken to nearby health facilities. The injured were later shifted to Quetta.

The deceased were identified as sepoys Sohail and Adnan and the injured as Naib Subedar Safdar and Lance Naik Ahmed Gul.
