RAWALPINDI: A couple and their daughter were burnt critically after a fire erupted in their house after an explosion due to gas leakage.

The incident occurred in Wakeel Colony, Gulzar-i-Quaid.

Police and rescuers identified the injured as Najam Rasheed, 28, Saba Najam, 30, and their five-year-old daughter Ibraish Najam.

The condition of Mr Rasheed was stated to be critical as he sustained 90pc burns. His wife sustained 45pc and daughter 35pc burns.

Meanwhile, four robbers raided a house in the Airport police area and robbed cash and gold jewellery worth Rs3 million on Sunday.

Sohail Shaukat, a resident of East Ridge Housing Society, complained to the police that the armed men

made the family members hostage in a room and collected 16 tola gold jewellery and Rs415,000 cash and escaped.
