PESHAWAR: Two verified Facebook pages of Awami National Party’s central general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain and a foundation named after his martyred son Rashid Hussain have been hacked.

Mian Iftikhar also lodged a complaint with FIA, requesting it to probe the matter as both the accounts were simultaneously hacked by someone.

The Facebook pages on name of Mian Iftikhar and Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed Foundation were hacked on Friday night.

In a video message on social media, Mian Iftikhar stated that he was worried about the development as both the pages were hacked simultaneously. He said he was having around 2,700,000 followers on his page whereas there were around 12,000 followers of the Facebook page of Mian Rashid Foundation.

He said if someone wanted to keep him away from his people through such techniques they would be disappointed as he would continue to reach out to people.

When contacted, the ANP leader told Dawn that he had also lodged a complaint with the Facebook as both the pages were verified.

He apprehended that the pages might be misused by miscreants due to which he had asked his followers not to follow those anymore.

Mian Iftikhar said through Facebook he had been reaching out to hundreds of thousands of his followers. He said the moment the pages were recovered he would let his followers know about it.
