KASUR: Two Covid-19 cases were reported in Kasur on Friday while several Tableeghi Jamaat activists left for hometowns in other provinces after completing their mandatory quarantine and final negative reports.

Also, people in Arifwala and Sahiwal volunteered to be quarantined after they developed symptoms of Covid-19.

A woman and a youth from South Africa (member of Tableeghi Jamaat) tested positive for coronavirus in Kasur.

According to health department officials, the woman alerted Rescue 1122 officials after she received her positive report from a private laboratory of Lahore. Local residents said a quack had treated her for days too, on which the authorities are looking for the illegal doctor.

The South Africa youth recently came from Lahore to avoid quarantine and was residing in a mosque in a Pattoki village.

Also, a 55-year-old man died of Covid-19 in the Lahore Jinnah Hospital. The deceased was buried in the presence of some family members, police and Rangers officials at Dholan Hithar graveyard.

His village has been sealed and family members put in quarantine. Though this funeral was a smooth affair, but another family has not been able to get the body of their 70-year-old relative for three days as the Lahore General Hospital would hand over the body to them after Covid-19 test.

SIALKOT: Twenty coronavirus patients were discharged from the Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital after their recovery and final negative results.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Nasir Mehmood Bashir told reporters they took three weeks to recover.

Now, 62 confirmed coronavirus cases are under treatment. Also, a 60-year-old patient who died in Mayo Hospital was buried in Mohallah Islamabad Nai Abadi by Rescue 1122 staff.

LAYYAH: Up to 163 people, out of 220 quarantined Tableeghi Jamaat members, have been discharged from the markaz and allowed to go home.

Fifteen activists who tested positive for Covid-19 are still in quarantine at the markaz.

“Besides the 15 confirmed cases, 27 other people have also been quarantined at the markaz as their test reports are awaited. They all will be allowed to leave once their reports are negative,” Khalil Ejaz, spokesperson for the markaz, said.

JHANG: The district administration has sealed three streets of the Dhaji Road area after a youngster tested positive for coronavirus. The youth got himself tested after developing symptoms. The administration shifted him to the quarantine centre and sealed the three streets of the locality.

SAHIWAL: In Arifwala, two persons approached the authorities and asked them to place them in quarantine as they feared they had developed Covid-19 symptoms.

Authorities shifted them to the quarantine centre at Government Girls College, Arifwala. Of them, one is a banker, and the other a resident of Marla Chowk who recently travelled to Karachi and interacted with a family suffering from coronavirus.
