BUNER: A member of an elite police force lost his life and a soldier of the Pakistan Army sustained injuries when militants opened fire on them during an operation at Elum Ghar, in Buner district, on Friday.

Funeral prayers for Mohammad Hanif, the policeman, were offered at Daggar while he was laid to rest at his native village, Maradu Chaghorzai.

Lance Naik Kamran, the injured soldier, was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital at Daggar, where he was given emergency treatment.
