ISLAMABAD: The Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme is one of the biggest relief packages for poor people in the country’s history, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan expressed these views during his visit to Ehsaas Emergency Cash centres in Sohan on Monday, to monitor the process of money transfer.

He thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for helping the poor and needy in such a critical time. Rs144 million is being distributed among 12.5 million deserving families, he said, adding

the process for money transfer is transparent because the programme is being run through a digital system.

Mr Awan praised Jamal Butt, a volunteer from the Corona Relief Tiger Force, who helped in getting a group of people arrested, involved in taking commission under the programme.

He said people should not pay commission to any oneunder this programme.

All centres in Islamabad are fully functional, he said, adding around Rs10.6 million was distributed to families in Islamabad on Monday alone. ReplyForward
