Another officer, South SSP (Investigation) Amir Saud Magsi, said that on April 13, the alleged robbers entered a home in Upper Gizri within the remit of the Clifton police station.

They snatched cash, mobile phone and other valuables from her. They also allegedly raped her. As the young woman put up resistance, the suspects injured her by hitting her head with some hard and blunt instrument.

The woman sustained critical head injuries and was taken to a hospital in Delhi Colony. Later on she died while being taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Her autopsy was conducted by a lady medico-legal officer there.

The SSP Magsi said that during the investigation, the suspects ‘confessed’ that they had subjected the woman to criminal assault.

The police seized snatched mobile phone and Rs30,000 cash from the suspects.

The officer revealed that the held suspects had a past criminal record as they had been nominated in criminal cases at different police stations in the metropolis.
