PPPA directed to increase efficiency, attract more investment

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Plann­­ing, Development and Special Initia­tives Asad Umar on Wednesday direc­ted the Public-Private Partnership Au­­thority (PPPA) to come up with well-structured partnerships for attracting more investment and increasing their efficiency.

Chairing the 7th meeting of the Board of Directors of PPPA here, the minister directed officials of Pakistan Railways to discuss all projects including Karachi Circular Railway in detail.

During the meeting, PPPA CEO Malik Ahmed Khan briefed on various administrative and operational matters of the authority.

The board also discussed various projects of Pakistan Railways as well as SOPs for project development. Support to projects of Pakistan Railways and NUST was also considered.

The minister directed the Board to constitute a Human Resource Committee for resolving matters related to employees and compensation on priority basis.

The meeting was attended by De­­puty Chairman Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, Secre­tary Railways, Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan, Secretary BOI, and mem­­ber Private Sector Development.
